It all started a week ago today..."the idea." A tiny thought that turned into something much bigger and by bigger I mean ginormous. Has this ever happened to you?? A little idea that just pops out of your mouth before you knew it and the boss says "ok! Let's CREATE an event on Facebook." So the event is CREATed on Facebook, you invite friends...ok, lots of friends, you go ahead and publish it then people start to respond yes, maybe and no. Oh my heck, you start to get excited that they just might actually come.

Now what? We make an example, take a picture and add it to the event. We make a list and check our supplies that we think we will need. Paint...check, puffy paint...check, t-shirts...check, fabric medium...check and some glitter...check. 4 PM on Monday rolls around and some peeps start to show up, then some more and a few more. No problem. Everything seems to be going very well. The RED & BLACK paint are flowing, the stencils are being CREATed as needed, the puffy paint is puffing out and the glitter is blinging everywhere. Wow, this is AWESOME! Before going home for the day all supplies are double checked and the boss goes for additional supplies and more t-shirts. Whew!

Tuesday rolls around and at 330 peeps start to show up, LOTS of peeps all at the same time. Stencils are being made slowly, paint is being prepped and girls are designing their shirts. You stroll in excited for the fun that began 30 minutes ago without you. You jump right in and try to keep up. Shoot we forgot to put masking tape on the list so a quick trip to ACE gets you right back on track. The boss shows up with more supplies because now we are out of RED & BLACK paint. No problem. More peeps keep on coming. Again at the end of the night supplies are checked and a new list CREATed for the next day.

Wednesday rolls around and a shipment with more glitter arrives just in time because we were almost out of the cool, silver glitter. More peeps come but not as many as the day before so it is easier to keep up with all the requests. But you guessed it at the end of the day we are out of paint again so the boss goes for more paint and more t-shirts.

Thursday goes by pretty tame. The boss even handles it all by herself. Several reservations for Friday night are taken. Coolio! This is working out GREAT!

Friday rolls around with more calls for mother/daughter night, a call that grandma is going to drop off 2 older grandkids, their is a stamp club booked for one area and the girls are coming in to make more football shirts. No problem there are extra people working tonight at CREATE. That is a good thing because the place is hopping!!!

Saturday comes and with it a few more girls to make their shirts. YES!!! This has been an AWESOME week.

We aren't quite sure but we think somewhere around 50 shirts were decorated this week at CREATE. When the boss said ok last Saturday we never imagined that we would go through so much paint that we would have to go buy more twice or that we would go through all the masking tape we had plus 4 more rolls or that we would use most of every kind of glitter we had or that we would make somewhere around 200 stencils of names, numbers and even a few antlers. We didn't realize that 8 loads of laundry would need to be done or that just about every surface would need to be scrubbed down to remove the glitter, glue and paint or that we would wash all of our brushes several times over each day or that we would all be exhausted at the end of the week. All in all there were quite a few things we didn't think about but for our first time things run fairly smooth.

Ok now having typed all this and having survived the week of AWESOME, I wouldn't change a thing. Now there are a few things we as a team we will do differently next time but overall I am so glad and proud of what we handled this week. I am so glad that I said OK to that little idea!

All of this from one little idea by one little Senior... Thank you so much for sharing that idea with me!!! GREAT JOB!!

Thank you to the whole team for sticking together and making the week a success for everyone.

Thank you to every single person who took a chance on us this last week and come in to CREATE this last week. We had so many wonderful visits and so much fun!! Thank you and I hope to see everyone again soon. ~Lisa
