One of my favorite customer reactions is when they walk in and simply get the whole concept of CREATE before we explain anything. I mean really, really just get it!!! It usually goes a bit like this "aaaaahhhhhhhhh ... you guys do a little bit of everything" while shaking their head in a affirmative way and trying to take everything in all at once.

I mention this today because I want to share with you a beautiful creation made by one of our customers that just "gets us and loves to come visit". I remember the first time Kim walked into CREATE, ok not the second she walked in but I remember Amy talking with her and showing her our new Tim Holtz pendants that we were working on at the time. Kim LOVED them and special ordered one for herself saying she would pick it up the next day. Quietly Amy and I were squealing on the inside because not only did Kim like the store but she also wanted to order something we had made. YEAH!!

When Kim returned she brought a friend with her to see our wonderful little store. After they walked around talking and checking the place out Kim booked her Birthday Party here with 8 of her closest friends. More squealing on the inside because this was to be our very first adult birthday party at CREATE. We were so excited and couldn't wait for Kim and her friends to come in to make the very same Tim Holtz pendant Kim had first fallen in love with. (Now remember I am over 40 and sometimes get a few things mixed up so I am sorry if I messed up any of the details here. )

The next week comes and Amy has a family emergency so I prepare to teach the class by myself. No problem I say as I prepare the supplies and set up the tables for the party. The ladies start to arrive, the snacks get laid out, the ladies start chatting....more chatting...while they are visiting I get a bit nervous what if I forgot something or don't know the answer. Ok now keep in mind I do like to prepare and by prepare I mean I had so many options out it was hard for some to make a decision. And well if I forgot anything, I don't think they noticed between the snacks and chatting. Whew! Kim and her friends all completed their projects, had a great time and learned just how crafty they could be. As I clean up I think WOW what a great group of friends......not expecting to see them again for a bit.

Saturday of the same week while I was working on something, I look up when the door opens and in walks Kim and 4 young ladies. They are here to make a project because Kim wanted to share her experience with her daughters and their friends. They all end up making more Tim Holtz pendants. While the girls work on their pendants Kim and I talk about the License Plate purse. Kim really wants to make this purse but she want to share this experience with some friends.

Fast forward a couple weeks...Kim brings in her Mother-in-law to show her CREATE. They mention they are planning a Girls Night out since dad and the boys all went camping. Around 630 I glance up to see Kim, Nana, Taylor, Morgan and Sydney want in. I get up to greet them. The 3 girls decide they want to make paper beads and paper pendants. Kim is going to make a charm bracelet and Nana wants to make a necklace. Well we don't have all the parts for the necklace so Nana helps Kim make her bracelet and I help the girls make paper beads. About 9 PM Kim looks outside and exclaims "OMG is is dark out". After a few chuckles they decided to go get some dinner then come back to finish. They invite Wendy and myself along. They are so fun and laid back!! We just feel so welcomed into their group!! Back to CREATE to finish the necklaces.

A few days later Kim and Nana are back to fix a couple tiny things on Kim's bracelet (this time I let the wire wrapping guru Molly take a look at it). Nana is ready to make her necklace because between the additional things I had found and the things she had found we now had all the pieces. When they prepare to leave I give Nana a great big hug because she will be flying back to CA. This time I remember to take pictures of their creations.

Kim's beautiful bracelet has 3 different chains and approx. 15 charms, 4 of which have the picture of her gorgeous children in them. I will mention that Kim LOVED this bracelet so much she couldn't even wait for the glue to try before she put it right back on her wrist. :-))

Nana has made a wonderful, vintage, mixed necklace. It is simply gorgeous with a little bit of everything she loved.

Thank you ladies!!! I can't wait for our next CREATive adventure! ~Lisa
